Tablets, small business are perfect match

For Eric Loyd, president and chief technology officer of New York-based tech firm Bitnetix, an Apple iPad allows him to do just about anything. Using his tablet, Loyd can sell services, update the company website and manage accounts and payroll, the news provider reported. All could be useful to various types of small businesses, according to the report. "At this point, I can't imagine professional life without the iPad," Loyd told the Street. All eight members of Illinois-based Argo Translation currently use tablets, because Peter Argondizzo found them so useful. Argo finds tablets to be particularly useful when employees are on the road to attend trade shows, the report stated. "We really like the ability to hook into our Exchange server for email and calendaring meetings on the go," Argondizzo says. "It helps with productivity and also allows our people to quickly check email and projects without actually hauling out a laptop." When deploying tablets it's important that companies, especially small businesses and startups, also focus on mobile device management. With the right approach to enterprise mobility, experts say, data will remain protected and costs will be kept in check. |
