In another indication that Apple's next-generation smartphone may soon hit the market, rumors have surfaced that one of the company's business partners may be building 150,000 iPhone 5 units per day.

Taiwanese parts suppliers have reported that manufacturer Foxconn has recently stepped up its production of the newest iPhone. Many rumors circulating around the industry have placed the release of the device sometime in October.

"Assuming the Taiwan sources are correct, Foxconn’s current build rate will help Apple stockpile inventory for pre-orders and launch day sales, although there isn’t any guarantee that the company will have enough product on hand to meet demand," the Mac Observer reported.

It's important to keep in mind that this and other reports are pure speculation, as Apple closely guards the specs and release date for the iPhone 5.

According to the latest market analysis from technology research firm comScore, Apple commanded 9.5 percent of the handset manufacturing space in July. The company's iOS operating system had 27 percent of the smartphone platform market, comScore reported.
