Armed with smartphones and tablets, employees around the world are both working longer hours and realizing the benefits of increased productivity that comes with always having access to company data and networks. Conducted by a mobile device management solutions firm, the latest Mobile Workforce Report pulled the survey results of 3,100 respondents from 1,100 firms around the world. Seventy-nine percent of respondents said they are more productive with mobile devices, and another 78 percent said they are more efficient. The report also highlighted the change in work habits brought on by mobile devices. Seventy-five percent of respondents work more hours each week because of this trend. Also, 55 percent of respondents admitted to working more than 10 hours extra per week, while 12 percent said they worked more than 20 hours extra. According to a recent IDC report, enterprise mobility has become too important for companies to ignore. The research firm stated that a "perfect storm" has a occurred whereby mobility has forever altered how business processes are completed. Companies that fail to recognize the trend will ultimately fall behind the competition. |
