Enterprise mobility paves new way for employee training

30 Aug 2011

Enterprise mobility is the next step for organizations to make on the technology ladder. With remote access, functional applications and the potential to reduce unnecessary expenses, it's no wonder why organizations are making the transition to mobile devices.

In their most basic forms, smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices allow organizations to use existing software, applications and systems in remote environments. However, they can also increase a business' return on investment by increasing efficiency, Alister and Paine magazine reported.

One area where enterprise mobility has proven to shine is employee training, the report noted. By creating product training and presentations via mobile devices, printing and distribution costs can be cut significantly, while everyone in the company is given a uniform portfolio, message and pricing brief. E-learning with video and animation through mobile technologies can also avoid the monotonous training regimens and allow access to the learning software in areas outside of the office, the news source reported.

The increase in usage of mobile devices, such as iPads or Android-powered tablets, within enterprises shows an interest in mobile technology. According to an IDC market analysis, enterprise users will make up nearly one-third of all mobile subscribers in the United States by 2012. An organization should become familiar with the steps of moving applications and software to mobile devices to improve its efficiency and the quality of service it provides.
